Back home in Geneva

We had a great trip and on our return trip home we had a layover in Munich, so I finally got my passport stamped with a German stamp. How cool is that!

Trip to Delphi

This was a bus trip day. I ended up having a good time, but let me just say we spent way too much time riding on the bus! We drove through the plain of Beotia where the town of Thebes is. I learned all about the Greek tragedy of King Oedipus while we were driving.

When we arrived in Delphi (this is where the Oracle of Delphi is) we went directly with the group to the museum. Let's just suffice it to say I needed some time to stretch my legs. I spent the whole time running through the museum. I was very good and never once touched one of the things. So Mama got to listen to the tour guide while I made sure Mommy got the speed version of the museum. Then we got to go outside and head up to the ruins. This was the fun part -- there were a ton of cats. I got to pet them. It was so much fun!
We climbed all the way to the top of the hill where they used to hold the Olympic games a long long long time ago. It was a long hard climb, but we all made it. Here's a photo of us at the stadium. Here's Mama and the temple of Apollo where the Oracle was. It was quite an interesting story.
One of my new found furry friends. On our return trip we stopped for a lunch break and a visit to one of the hand made rug factories. It was a long day, but we made it back to the hotel in time to pack for our return trip back to Geneva the next morning.

Our own boat cruise

This was my favorite day of all. We got on a boat early in the morning and headed out to sea. I loved walking around the boat and looking out at all the islands. I also meet some really nice people on the boat. I became good friends with a group of 11 women from Spain! There is so much to tell you about. After a few hours on the boat we got off at the first island Hydra. Everything was so white with blue accents. It was beautiful. We walked to see the fort at the end of the island, then my favorite part we got to go an a donkey ride. I loved it. When we were finished we shopped and then headed back to the ship for lunch.
I looked so cute in my new sweatshirt eating lunch like a big girl! I even gave everyone at the table a toast! The second island was Poros and we only had a short time there where of course I decided to take my nap.
We learned some Greek dancing while we were on the ship too. I had trouble keeping up with my feet, so Mommy did all the work while I enjoyed watching the musicians play. I think Mommy got quite good. The last island was Aegina and we walked around and enjoyed the village for a few hours. There were two very different styles of churches. One was a very big Byzantine church and the other was this typical style church in the Greek islands. It was very beautiful. I had a great time walking around and playing in this village.

Modern Athens

Today we spent time looking around the modern side of the city with all it's narrow streets, tiny shops and some interesting Greek soldiers. Mama and I check out all the birds at the space of the "Unknown soldier". This is guarded 24 hours a day and the changing of the guard happens every hour. Do you see the pompoms on his shoes? Below Mommy (and me on her back) sneak a photo with a guard outside the Presidential Mansion.

While I was snoozing in the Ergo pack, Mommy and Mama went by the Panathenaikon Stadium where the first modern Olympic games were held in 1896.We did a lot of walking today and saw many other things like the parliament house, Zappeion Mansion which is now the exhibitions and conference center, Syntagma square, and many other things. My favorite part of the day was the long walk in the National Garden where we saw lots of dogs running around and we got to spend a long time in the play ground. There was a group of English speaking nannies that gathered to play with all the kids. There was lots of cool things to do -- including this really fun swing!

Ruins day 2

Today we saw more ruins. I really like walking around the parks that have all the cool broken down buildings. We found a baby turtle in the Kerameikos ruins, we checked him out, and then found a nice safe spot for him to wait until him mommy came back. I liked letting him sit on my hand. I think he was really scared because he pulled his head, arms, and tail into his shell. I gave him a gentle pet and sent him on his way.
So I slept through this part, but my Mommies say that we went to Hadrian's arch and the temple of Olympian Zeus. And here is a picture of Mama in front of the arch, so I guess we were there.
Then we climbed through yet another cool park to the top of Philapappou hill. The views were stunning. We are almost as high as the Acropolis. It was great fun to run around and burn off some of my energy.

Athen's Day 1

Ok -- so I have to say there are so many great photos of very interesting things that it is going to be hard for me to scale it down to just a few.

Basically we used yesterday as a complete travel day. By the time we had checked into the hotel it was time to hook up with some good Greek food and hit the hay. Today is when the serious sight seeing started to happen.

We went to the Acropolis today. There was lots of old, old, old, old rocks around. They looked really cool for climbing, but Mama and Mommy said that I couldn't get carried away. We walked up for a while then I got tired and Mommy carried me the rest of the way to the top of a big hill. Up there there were interesting buildings mostly missing walls and roofs and things like that. We met a lot of people who were there from cruise ships, all of whom thought I was really cute! Then I had to get a snooze. This photo was taken right before my big nap, so I'm fighting a bit to keep my eyes open. During my nap my mommies walked back down the big hill to find a good lunch spot. Our table had a wonderful view of the Acropolis too! After lunch I had some time to play in a park with swings and slides and stuff. It was great.
After some time playing and a bit of window shopping we went back to see more ruins in the ancient Agora (market place) Here is one of the few stones I was actually allowed to stand on! I was pretending to be a statue!

Black Friday News

News around the flat is that we are being transferred back to the PA area in the new year. I think we all have mixed emotions about the news. We really enjoy our European adventures and I have loved being able to play with Hugh and Heather so much. There are so many positives back in the states too. We'll be close to Jacob, Jill, and the soon to be baby J as well as Grandmum, Gramp and other relatives. Many details are still being worked out, but it looks as if we'll be stateside in early February.

Knowing that our adventure on this side of the pond is coming to an end, we are trying to pack in as many bonus adventures as possible before we leave. So this morning we are heading out to Athens, Greece for 6 days. I'll fill in my stories and photos when we return.

Happy Thanksgiving

Wow - we worked all day. First we had to go to the butcher to pick up our specially ordered turkey, then it was back home to spend the rest of the day in the kitchen! Then it was time to put on my party dress again. We had a great time hosting 6 of our friends to their first ever traditional Thanksgiving dinner. It was so much fun. Here's a photo of the group at the table -- a bit dark, but hopefully you get the picture. And there is Mama doing the honors to the bird, of course after we had everyone oooh and aaah over the golden bird. It was a pretty good meal, if I do say so myself. And a complete group effort -- I was in charge of the pies; Mama the bird and stuffing; Mama the veggies and decorating.

Weekend photos

If I wish hard enough, maybe I'll be the real Minnie mouse! Walking in the leaves. It is much colder here in Switzerland than it was in Florida! Burrrr
Making cupcakes. One of my friends just picked up her little sister at the hospital. I'm not sure of all the details, but I understand you just drop in and place an order for a baby brother or sister. Any way, I decided to make some cupcakes to take over with the gifts we bought.
Playing doctor! I have to see why Mommy has a hard time hearing me!

Sad Day

After 12 and a half wonderful years, we had to send Chance off to Doggie Heaven today. We spoiled him with lots of treats for the last few days. I will miss him very much and I'm sure that Mommy and Mama will miss him too! Rest in peace, good boy! Note from Mommy: Chance was diagnosed with bone cancer this week; his advanced age and his arthritis has made any treatment options impossible. It was a hard decision, but now he is out of his pain and suffering.

Jet Lag is no fun

Wow -- I'm not having much fun with jet lag these days. My mommies keep telling me it's time to eat and sleep at all the wrong times.

The after parties

After the big wedding there was a brunch and some more good times with family and new friends. I had a great time playing with everyone. I really had a good time with my cousin Leslie, she's so cool! Here I am checking out her pretty necklace at the wedding.
After all the parties ended I helped Aunt Keebo and Uncle Wes open their wedding presents. It was fun to unwrap all those gifts! They got some cool things and lots in red (Keebo's favorite color). For anyone who is wondering why I call Aunt Keebo, Aunt Keebo - here's the story: Carol is a little bit older than my Mama and when Mama was really little she had a hard time saying Carol -- it came out like Keebo. When I was born, Aunt Carol thought it would be extra special if I called her Aunt Keebo and I kind of like it!
Monday it was time to pack up and head back to Orlando to catch our flight back home to Geneva. Aunt Keebo and I had time to read the paper while Mommy was packing up the car! We had a great time in Tallahassee (which by the way, isn't as hard to pronounce as you would think.)
Congratulations again to the happy couple. We were thrilled to be able to share your special day!

The BIG DAY

The big day has finally arrived! Tonight Keebo and Wes are getting hitched.

This morning we did more shopping! I can't believe how much fun I can have at a mall. Then it was time to take a bath and pack up to head to the wedding venue. It was a beautiful country club. I got to play around on the course while Mommies helped a bit with the decorating. Then it was time to put on my party dress.

While Keebo was the center of attention, I tried hard to make sure she didn't get all of the spotlight. I danced, played, sang songs and cheered on the Hokies.
It was a great night and don't you like my party dress? I even got to snap a photo with the happy couple and enjoy some of the wedding cupcakes! Yummy

I like to PARTY.

When I was finally really tired, I took a nice snooze in my stroller until the party finished up.

More parties

Today was fillied with shopping and more parties. Of course we had to go to the mall and check out all the things the US has to offer. Mommy drank quite a bit of Starbucks coffee over the weekend and Mama shopped until we all dropped. I even got to pick out my party dress for the wedding tomorrow. Wow -- I'm going to look fabulous!

Another party tonight -- this time at Aunt Keebo's house. So I'll party as long as I can then head to bed upstairs.

Travel to Tallahassee

Today we said goodbye to Disney and started the trek to Tallahassee for Aunt Keebo and Uncle Wes's big wedding weekend.

I met many relatives for the first time at the dinner party and got to check out Keebo's house. It was really nice with a great stair case. I loved going up and down and up and down and up and down (you get the picture!)

The camera got a rest today -- but wait until you see all the photos from the wedding party! Yippie

101 Photo op

A trip to Disney wouldn't be complete with out these photos!

Magic Kingdom part 2

We still had lots to see and do in the Magic Kingdom. I picked out my very own Mouse ears -- purple with Tinkerbell on them and then we sat down to watch the parade. After the parade was my favorite part of the day -- we got to meet the princess, Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy up close and personal. While I'm not smiling in any of these pictures -- I was thrilled! I gave everyone a hug and a kiss (except for that goofy guy- he's a little nuts!) I loved talking to the princesses too. Cinderella and Minnie are definitely my favorites.

We finished the day with a ride on Dumbo the flying elephants and a boat ride in it's a small world. It started to get really cold, so we quickly headed to main street to see the castle at night and watch the fireworks. I might have liked the fireworks if I wasn't so tired and since I wasn't thrilled about them we headed home to call it another wonderful day at Disney!

Magic Kingdom Part 1

There is so much to tell you about this day, that I'll break it up into two posts.

While I had a great time all the days were were hanging out at Disney; I think this was my favorite day of all.

This is my first view of Cinderella's castle. It was spectacular! I can't believe she lives in such a cool place. We even got to watch a show on the castle steps. It was amazing to see all my favorite characters and princesses in person. (My Mommies didn't tell me we were going to see them up close and personal later in the day.)

I saw the tea cup ride and just had to get on it, we went round and round and round and round. It was so much fun. I had to wait in line to see some of my favorite characters up close, but it was worth it. I saw Pooh and Tigger before spending some time playing in the 100 acre woods playground. We went on Cinderella's merry go round, the Snow White ride, a 3-D movie (which I'm not so sure I liked much, but check out the cool glasses), and Pooh's ride. And that was all before lunch! What an amazing place, there was so much to check out here. Of course lots of people, but lots of exciting things as well.
After lunch I managed a good snooze while Mommy and Mama when on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
Then we headed over to Mickey's Toon Town. It was a great place with tons of things for me to do. I even rode on the roller coaster there. I was just big enough! We got to walk through Minnie's house and see all her things. Mickey's house was being decorated for Christmas, so I didn't get a chance to see it (next time).

Downtown Disney

After much consultation it was decided that today was another day for rest and relaxation and of course shopping. While I did enjoy the shopping at Downtown Disney (I tried on quite a few things - including big girl underwear) I also enjoyed the photo opportunities and a few rides. It was a nice restful day, we had lunch at the Rain forest Cafe where I got to see some elephants and gorillas up close. It was really cool. Here is a smattering of photos from the day

More Ice Cream!
