Modern Athens

Today we spent time looking around the modern side of the city with all it's narrow streets, tiny shops and some interesting Greek soldiers. Mama and I check out all the birds at the space of the "Unknown soldier". This is guarded 24 hours a day and the changing of the guard happens every hour. Do you see the pompoms on his shoes? While I was snoozing in the Ergo pack, Mommy and Mama went by the Panathenaikon Stadium where the first modern Olympic games were held in 1896.We did a lot of walking today and saw many other things like the parliament house, Zappeion Mansion which is now the exhibitions and conference center, Syntagma square, and many other things. My favorite part of the day was the long walk in the National Garden where we saw lots of dogs running around and we got to spend a long time in the play ground. There was a group of English speaking nannies that gathered to play with all the kids. There was lots of cool things to do -- including this really fun swing!
